Notes /
Codex you launch is driven. Codex you started isn't.
App-server for sessions we own. The TUI you already opened stays watch-only. Still honest.
Codex from New session is now a first-class Drive agent, same as Claude and Grok: prompts, images, allow/deny, interrupt, mid-turn steer, resume. We talk to codex app-server, not a fake keyboard.
A Codex TUI you started yourself is still watch-only. Upstream does not let a second client sit on a live thread. We tail ~/.codex/sessions so you see the transcript and the tokens. We will not pretend we can type into that terminal.
That split is the whole point of this note. Landing pages that list six agents and mean "we parsed a log file" burn trust. Codex is supported. Codex is not Claude. The TUI you didn't launch through Tether is still a window, not a remote.
